Bringing sauna to Walthamstow

At Community Sauna Baths, our mission is to bring sauna and cold plunge to more people across London, in spaces that are welcoming, calming, and open to all.

As a not-for-profit, we reinvest all our income into building and running our sites. That means keeping prices low and offering free or reduced access to those who need it most.

Our Walthamstow site has come with a few unexpected challenges. The land sits near a culverted stream, which caused flooding in 2021. To make the site safe and resilient, we’ve had to invest in extra drainage and infrastructure adding to the cost of the build.

To get the site over the line, we’re aiming to raise £20,000 through Pre-Sale packages. Every purchase brings us closer to opening, without compromising on safety, access or quality.

You can buy as few as two or as many as twenty sessions, all at a lower price than our standard rates saving up to £200 on regular pricing.

What you’re helping us build

Our new community sauna in Walthamstow, Sutherland Road

Exciting news — we’re turning a vacant industrial plot into a vibrant new Community Sauna.

It will include three communal saunas, cold plunge pools, hot and cold showers, changing rooms, and a shared relaxation space.

We’re also building a community garden open to the public, with level-access pathways, timber decking, bike parking, and plans for wheelchair accessibility. Like our other sites, Walthamstow will offer concessionary access, creative events, and a warm, welcoming space for everyone.
